Dream Dressing Room

Hi lovies!

Wow, its been far too long!  My life has been a whirlwind of craziness (all good, just busy)!  We have been in the process of buying our first home and boy, is that a long intense process.  We are due to close in the next couple of weeks and things have settled down just a tad bit.

Since we are moving into our new home so soon (and I finally have a chance to post) I though it would be fun to post some fun dressing room ideas or as I have been calling it with my hubby “my glam room.”  He was so confused at first but I explained that I needed a place to put all my makeup, purses and shoes and a place with room for me to get ready and not hog up the bathroom.  Here are some things I love and feel would be perfect for that dream dressing room!

I just really love the look of gold right now in almost every room.  I think a funky colored rug and some cool furniture could really tie together the space and make it feel inviting.  I love this bench from Anthropology and its functionality in a dressing room.  I am also obsessed with this chandelier, I have been looking at so many fun beaded ones for our new home and just love this pottery barn one!  Another great site that I go to all the time for fun lighting is Arhaus you can find so many great options here!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!

What would your dream dressing room look like?!

Wayfair Home Update

Hi loves!

So today is a great day, I am home having a SNOW DAY!  I feel like a little kid, so excited to not have to get dressed and travel to work haha.  The weather here in NYC/Hudson Valley has been crazy.  Yesterday was 60 degrees and then today there are blizzard and storm warnings in and around the area!  I normally commute a while to work, almost 2 hours each way, so with the weather being so nasty right now I am sure it would take me closer to 3 hours…So I opted to not travel out and stay home.

Anyone else home for a snow day?!

So I know in my last post I mentioned my hubby and I have started the home buying process!  It really has been a very new, exciting and nerve racking experience thus far.  As long as all keeps running smooth we should be moving into our new home in July!  So with that said I have of course been dreaming up each room and how I will decorate.  We also are moving from an apartment so there are a few items that we do not own now that we will need to get.  I have been filling up a cart on Wayfair (I know, a little premature, but I cannot contain my excitement!) and I thought I would make a post on some items we plan on getting or things I just love.

Is anyone else obsessed with Wayfair like me??  You can get anything you can think of and really furnish your entire home all on one site!

  1. I love white and this table just jumped out to me.  I would love to pair this table with chairs like the one I included in this post.  We love to entertain so having a table that can fit 8+ people is a huge plus and this table is extendable.  I also love the distressed finish!
  2. The chairs are exactly what I would love to have for my dining room.  I love how they are a neutral color and would be comfortable for an everyday kitchen chair as well.
  3. I just love this nightstand for our master bedroom.  I love the lines, the fact it is white and also has a drawer.  It looks large enough to have a light on it as well which i really like to have next to the bed.  I plan on doing one on each side.
  4. THIS BED.  I just love it.  Again, the distressed look is amazing and I love that its natural wood but also has white on it.  I was originally looking for an all white bed but did not seem to like many that I came across.  This is one that I think would go great in our new bedroom and with those nightstands!
  5. I love the look of new rugs that have that distressed worn-in look.  I think this rug would be a nice addition to our bedroom.  Again, its more neutral but I love that it still has pretty blues in it.
  6. I love this sofa for a couple of reasons.  I love the blue velvet and I love that this is a pull out bed.  This would be perfect in my office/glam room I plan on having.  We want each bedroom to be able to sleep people, again since we like to entertain, but I did not want an actual bed in each room.  So this is perfect.
  7. This ottoman is just awesome.  It comes in a ton of different colors and would be perfect in my glam room or even in the living room.

Any new items from Wayfair that you have been eyeing?!

Dream Closet

Happy Thursday!

So my husband and I have been talking about buying or building a house in the near future.  Since I am always on Pinterest (you can follow me here) looking for new home ideas I thought it would be fun to share a post about one room in particular, the closet.  Now, most people wouldn’t think much of this but I love clothes, shoes, purses and need a nice size spot to store them all, yes my husband has his hands full!  I have been thinking up what the perfect closet would look like for me and wanted to share some of my ideas!

I have always wanted a walk in closet/combo glam room.  I would love a place to store all my things as well as a place for me to get ready.  Right now in our apartment I have no room for getting ready in the morning.  Our bathroom is small and when the two of us are trying to get ready at the same time it does not really work out too well.

Here are some fun things I came across that I would totally incorporate into this dream closet:

As you can tell I have a bit of an obsession with white and gold.  I just love a nice clean, bright look and then I love the navy and pink as fun girly accents!  I would also love white built ins along the walls and if there is enough room I would have an island with storage and a nice white marble counter top.

While searching for the perfect items for this dream closet of mine I came across a really cool company that I thought would be perfect to share in this post.  They are called MakeSpace.  MakeSpace is a new service that comes to your place, grabs your stuff, and stores it. Through the use of their app you can tell them to bring you whatever you need out of storage whenever! It’s kind of like having a second closet, or even a personal assistant that brings you your stuff at a snap of your fingers.  You can find the locations they are serving here.  I wish I would have come across this over a year ago when we had to clean out my in-laws house and had to take on a number of new things.  We bought a storage unit, which is always a hassle, and not everything fit so we had to bring a lot of it into our-not so big- apartment.  Have you ever used them, would love to hear feedback!

It doesn’t hurt to dream, what would your dream closet look like?!
