Homemade Vegan Biscuits

I love experimenting so last night I wanted to try and make a simple vegan biscuit/roll to go with the soup we were having for dinner.  I was actually very surprised at how good they turned out, so I thought I would share! The recipe is very simple with only 5 main ingredients.  Bakes at 350 for 15 minutes, quick and just what we needed.

You will need:

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 cup of almond milk (or any non dairy milk would be good)
  • 2 tablespoons of unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt (I used pink himalayan salt)
  • dried herbs of choice (optional)-you can just eyeball this part
  • preheat oven to 350
  • Makes 6 biscuits

Start by mixing all the ingredients above in a medium sized mixing bowl.  I used some dried thyme which added a nice flavor to compliment the soup we were eating it with.  I also used the light almond milk in original and organic applesauce.

Grease a cupcake pan with some Pam (this recipe makes 6 biscuits) and make sure the oven is pre-heated to 350 before popping them in.

Once pre-heated put them in the oven for a quick 15 minutes

Then voila!

As soon as they came out of the oven I topped them with some Earth Balance Butter (I recommend this because otherwise they are a tad dry) I also sprinkled a little bit of the thyme on top.  Serve while still warm!

They were super quick and easy and totally vegan! I would also love your feedback if you try this recipe, please let me know 🙂

Enjoy!
